GueSehat
A Swift iOS app that I rebuilt in Flutter in 2019. It was the team's first production Flutter app and shipped in under 2 months, with a symptom checker, medical directories and event listings.
Overview
GueSehat began as an iOS app written in Swift, which I maintained. In 2019 I led the rebuild in Flutter with BLoC and Clean Architecture. It was the team's first production Flutter project. The app was small and focused, so the rebuild shipped in under 2 months and gave it one codebase for iOS and Android.
The problem
GueSehat existed only as a Swift iOS app. The rebuild moved it to one Flutter codebase for iOS and Android.
Contribution Highlights
I led the Flutter rebuild and built the app's data-heavy features.
1. Swift to Flutter rebuild
Led the rebuild of the Swift iOS app as one Flutter codebase, using BLoC and Clean Architecture. It shipped in under 2 months.
2. Symptom checker and medical directory
Built the symptom checker on top of a disease information database, plus directories to find medicine, clinics and doctors or experts.
3. Events, articles and push notifications
Built event listings, an articles section and push notifications.
4. Multi-provider login
Added login with Facebook, Google, Apple and email and password.
Architecture and trade-offs
Rebuild in Flutter
The app was lean and focused, which made a full rebuild realistic. I led it with BLoC and Clean Architecture, and it was the team's first production Flutter project.
