Teman Bumil (Native Legacy)
Indonesia's leading pregnancy app in its original form. I maintained and shipped features for the native codebases (iOS & Android) and took iOS crash-free users from 40% to 95-97% prior to the 2020 major revamp.

Overview
Teman Bumil was already a staple app for Indonesian moms-to-be. This project was basically my deep dive into the mobile coding world. As part of the mobile team, I was responsible for maintaining and shipping features for both native platforms, specifically Objective-C for iOS and Java for Android. It was a steep learning curve keeping feature parity across two different legacy codebases, but crucial to support the user base until the big revamp in early 2020.
Project Focus & Learning
My main focus was stabilizing the iOS app, mastering two native codebases, and shipping a wide range of new features.
1. Crash-Free Rate Turnaround
When I joined, the iOS crash-free users rate was just 40%. I refactored large parts of the Objective-C codebase and added unit testing to catch regressions earlier and speed up development, pushing crash-free users up to 95-97%, an improvement the QA automation team noticed firsthand.
2. Mastering Separate Native Codebases
Managed all maintenance and new feature implementations simultaneously for Java (Android) and Objective-C (iOS), ensuring a consistent user experience on both platforms despite the differing technology stacks.
3. Feature Development
Built out the animated milestone tracker, checklist, tips & recipes pages, ads banner integration, discussion threads, and online classes, plus multi-provider login with Google, Apple, Facebook, and email/password.
